Meet Your Instructor

Rachel Brown is making it her aspiration to share her love of music with anyone who wishes to learn.

She is currently in her 3rd year at University Of The West Of Scotland studying for a BA (HONS) in Commercial Music.

Rachel is a member of the PVG scheme and works to the Musicians' Union standard contract. 

Rachel mainly plays piano but other instruments she can play are the trumpet, french horn, percussion, guitar and voice. Rachel has undergone many ABRSM exams for piano and trumpet as well as performing in competitions and at concerts. She has been placed 1st twice at the Ayrshire Music Festival for solo performances on French Horn and has also participated in duets, quartets and orchestra performances at this festival too. Rachel has extensive experience in performing solo or as a duet, trio, quartet, band or orchestra. Although she is highly trained on reading sheet music a lot of the material she plays on piano is based by ear, by listening to a song and working out in her head the notes/chords and then playing it.
